Concrete is a common subfloor material and in general it s easy to prepare for a luxury vinyl flooring installation project. Measure and cut 1 4 inch or thicker plywood with a circular saw to fit the entire floor of the room where you are installing vinyl flooring. To prevent this a foam liner can be installed under the flooring in the low spot to muffle the sound as people walk over the area. Because engineered hardwood has a top layer of actual wood you are able to get the best of both worlds.

One issue with this flooring on an uneven surface is that a person may hear a subtle tap as they walk across the floor as it pushes down into a low spot. In an application where the subfloor has uneven tendencies and or crosses over various rooms with differing subfloor surfaces engineered flooring gives you real wood where you otherwise would have to put down new subflooring. If your concrete subfloor was just poured you ll need to allow it to properly cure for a minimum of 60 days before your luxury vinyl flooring installation begins.
