With a pick up stick you can easily pass over more than one warp end to create lace spot weaves honeycomb and other interesting patterns. Pick up sticks are simple and brilliant at the same time. To weave a weft float you place the heddle in neutral and tip the stick up on its edge so just the yarns on the stick are up.

Using a pick up stick to weave 3 1 lace and 5 1 lace. To weave a warp float place the heddle in the up position and slide the stick towards the heddle. This class assumes that you have the ability to warp and dress your own loom without assistance and are reasonably comfortable doing so. Using a pick up stick is an extremely versatile creative and fun way of introducing pattern and texture in your weaving.
