Well pump motor overheating.

An air conditioner compressor motor that is overheating may sometimes be re started by cooling the equipment with water watch out for shorting electrical components.
Under load it overheats within 2 3 minutes and restarts after a couple of minutes for about a minute.
Even a brand new pump can get too hot and suddenly stop working and have to be replaced.
So your well water flow rate may be poor or your pump is at end of life or both.
The discharge head has dropped below the rated point and the pump is pumping too much liquid throttle the discharge to bring duty point back onto the curve trim the impeller reduce vsd speed.

To avoid this problem be sure to limit back to back plumbing fittings which compound losses and be sure that the pump is matched well with the other equipment and the demands of the pool.
The motor requires excessive power.
An overheating water pump can shorten the life of the motor and cause damage to surrounding piping.
